We used to microwave popcorn but it tends to burn so easily and we were concerned about the artificial flavors and salt content of the corn and chemicals in packaging. So when we discovered the way to make popcorn on the stove, we never bought the prepackaged option again. I found the recipe online but do not remember which website it was on, so sorry for not giving the credit to the author.
Heat 1 teaspoon of grapeseed oil in a big pan and throw in 3-4 kernels of corn.
Lower the heat, cover the lead and wait till they pop.
Add 1/2 cup of corn kernels, take the pan off the fire, cover with the lid and count to 30. This allows the kernels to heat evenly and prevents burning.
Put the pan back on the low heat, and open the lid slightly to prevent the condensation that makes popcorn soggy.
Wait till all the kernels pop, transfer the popcorn into a bowl, add 1-2 tablespoons of melted butter and sprinkle with fine salt.
Makes enough for 2 big and 2 small people.
